Scotland - The Highlands
For five days in January, my girlfriend and I drove across the highlands in a VW combi van. As romantic as it sounds, it certainly wasn’t. Days were short, dark, cold and often wet (thank god we didn’t have the dog). The Highlands can be brutal. One storm was enough to make us thankful there was no snow; even though we really wanted it at the start. Nonetheless, the landscapes we encountered were empty, the light (when it was there) was amazing and the Highlands themselves were spectrum of vivid colour. Therefore, I set out to document the double edged sword that was winter in the Highlands.
